Downtown Denver Partnership seeks input on 16th Street Mall

The Downtown Denver Partnership Inc. trade group has plans to promote an initiative to help create a plan for upgrades to the 16th Street Mall for which it manages.  The DDP is sponsoring a panel that is headed by the Urban Land Institute (ULI), to evaluate the mall's future and its redevelopment.  The panel will be in Denver May 12-16.

In the past several years, the condition of some of the mall buildings have been criticized since they are located on a Denver city street.  The properties are owned by many different owners and the conditions range from good to poor.  Shames Makovsky Realty Co. acquired one of those buildings, the historic Steel Building at 16th and Welton Streets and is currently renovating it as office and retail space.
